More Than a Service Call
For us, showing up for Wilmington has never been limited to fixing heating systems or running electrical lines. It extends into the neighborhoods, schools, and organizations that make this region such a special place to live and work.
At Salt Air Heating & Cooling Electrical, we’ve always believed that a thriving business has a responsibility to invest in the community that supports it. That belief isn’t a marketing statement. It’s something Devin and Brooke Skipper built into the company from the very beginning, and it continues to guide the way we operate today.
Why Community Matters to Us
Wilmington is home. Our team members live here, raise families here, and care deeply about the health of this community. When local organizations are doing meaningful work, we want to be part of it. When families are struggling, we want to help where we can. And when there’s an opportunity to bring people together around something good, Salt Air wants to be at that table.
The Cape Fear region has a spirit of resilience that we admire. From bouncing back after hurricanes to supporting neighbors through tough economic stretches, this community has always shown up for itself. We take that same spirit seriously, and we try to reflect it in the way we run our business.
Organizations We're Proud to Support
Over the years, Salt Air has built relationships with a number of local and regional organizations doing important work across a range of causes. These partnerships reflect the values we hold as a company — from housing stability and literacy to veteran support and youth development.
Housing & Home Stability
- WARM NC — works to ensure low-income homeowners have access to safe, weatherized homes
Veterans & Disability Services
- Canines for Service — a Wilmington-based nonprofit that trains and places service dogs with veterans and individuals with disabilities
Youth, Education & Literacy
- The Children’s Museum of Wilmington — a hands-on learning hub that sparks curiosity and creativity in kids across the region
- Cape Fear Literacy Council — helping adults in our community develop the reading and writing skills they need to thrive
- North Brunswick Community Coalition — supporting families and youth in Brunswick County through education and outreach
End-of-Life & Community Care
- Lower Cape Fear LifeCare — providing compassionate end-of-life care and support to patients and families throughout the region
Local Business & Economic Growth
- Wilmington Chamber of Commerce and Brunswick and Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce — helping to strengthen our local business community
- Genesis Block — a collaborative community space supporting entrepreneurship and innovation in Wilmington
- Downtown Business Alliance — working to keep Wilmington’s downtown vibrant and welcoming for residents and visitors alike
Each of these organizations is doing something we believe in, and we’re honored to lend our support in whatever way we can.
Recognized for More Than Just Good Work
We’ve been lucky to receive a few recognitions over the years that genuinely caught us off guard. Devin was humbled to be included in Wilmington’s Top 40 Under 40, a list of people doing meaningful work in this community, and Brooke was named a finalist for the Women to Watch Award in the business category, which meant a lot to her and to our whole team. Salt Air has also been featured in WILMA Magazine and Wilmington Biz for our approach to business and community involvement.
We mention these not because we think they define us, but because they remind us that doing right by people, our customers, our team, and our neighbors, doesn’t go unnoticed. That’s always been the goal.
Showing Up When It Counts
Coastal communities like ours know better than most what it means to face unexpected hardship. Whether it’s a hurricane season that stretches resources thin or a family dealing with a system failure in the middle of a heat wave, Salt Air has always tried to show up with both skill and heart.
That means responding quickly during emergencies, supporting relief efforts when disaster hits the region, and treating every customer like a neighbor because to us, that’s exactly what they are.
A Company That Cares
We know there are a lot of options when it comes to HVAC and electrical service in Wilmington. We’re grateful every time someone chooses Salt Air. And we want every customer to know that when you work with us, you’re supporting a company that puts its resources back into this community.
The work we do inside your home matters. The work we do out in the community matters just as much.
Thank you for being part of what makes this all possible. We’re proud to be your neighbors, and we’re committed to making the Cape Fear region a little better every chance we get.
